Escape Lounges At Portland International Airport Now Open

News from our partners:

Escape Lounges has today announced it is now fully open at Portland International Airport, and that guests can also pre-book their visit at escapelounges.com.

For an introductory rate of only $40, travelers through PDX can guarantee their visit to the common use airport lounge, by pre-booking their stay in advance of their day of travel.

All passengers will also be able to access the lounge, regardless of airline, status, or credit card in hand by paying $45 on the door, however pre-booking in advance ensures travelers can enjoy all premium amenities, and at a lower cost.

Escape Lounges each tell their own unique story, reflecting the character of their region throughout, and the lounge at PDX is no different.

The Pearl District was a major source of inspiration for this lounge, with the district’s history of warehouses and light industry informing the use of specific materials, including bespoke steel, glass and reclaimed wood. These can all been seen used across the entrance doors, and throughout many other areas of the vibrant space – all of which has been thoughtfully designed to meet every traveler’s needs.

Many more interior elements have also been inspired by the city, including lighting fixtures from Portland based company Rejuvenation and Oregon based Folk Lighting, and all the artwork, pottery and glass are from Portland based artists, namely, Scott Gellatly, Marilyn Joyce, and Amy Fields.

Escape Lounges at PDX will also work with several local food and drink providers, including Coava, Great Notion Brewery and Oregon Fruit Co; all local businesses that will aid Escape Lounges in providing a menu that’s inspired by the region.

The lounge, which will be in Concourse D between Gates 8 and 10, will also offer:

  • A chef-curated menu – breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings that change seasonally, highlight local flavors, and cater to various dietary requirements
  • Local wines, beer and spirits
  • Power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, and up-to-date flight information
  • Digital library with more than 7,000 publications from 120-plus countries, courtesy of PressReader

"A high-quality, common-use lounge—like the Escape Lounges—is an amenity our travelers have been asking for and is the first of its kind at PDX,” said Chris Czarnecki, Director of Aviation Business and Properties at the Port of Portland. “We’re thrilled with the design that CAVU developed, which offers a welcoming, locally inspired place for travelers to rest, relax and recharge."

"We’re delighted to be opening our newest Escape Lounge in Portland International Airport. We’re confident we’ll be able to deliver an ‘Escape to Remember’ to all guests flying out of the region through a combination of food and drink, our service and the physical lounge itself – all of which will be inspired by local region," – Matt Etchells, Experiences Director for CAVU, parent company of Escape Lounges.

Escape Lounges will also offer complimentary access to American Express Centurion®, American Express Platinum®, American Express Business Platinum®, American Express Corporate Platinum®, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve* and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business Card* members, as well as Priority Pass and DragonPass, among more.

About The Port of Portland
With three airports, three active marine terminals, and five business parks, the Port of Portland is an economic engine for transforming the region into a place where everyone is welcome, empowered, and connected to the opportunity to find a good job or grow their business. The Port works to pull down barriers and provide access to people and local businesses who have been left out of the region’s economic growth—including people of color, low-income workers, and people with disabilities. Collectively, the Port leads big projects in the region, like building a new PDX with a community-centered approach; transforming a former marine terminal into a site for innovation in the housing construction and mass timber industries; and providing more options for Pacific Northwest businesses to send their products around the world.
