Something to Smile About in October
Trees, views, local stores, a mezzanine to explore — the new PDX is here! And there’s still more to come.
In order to bring you the new PDX designs as soon as possible, we divided our work on the main terminal into two phases. Think of PDX as a “Wow!” in progress.
Once the terminal opened in August 2024, we said goodbye to the old security stations and post-security shops on the building’s north and south ends. During a few months this fall, while we remove the old ticket counters and give the front lobby its own glow-up, you may encounter temporary detours there.
Construction Impacts to Expect: October 7 - 13
To help you plan for what’s ahead, we’re updating this section weekly. If you'd like to receive these updates right in your inbox, subscribe to the PDX People newsletter.Concourse D: Today through Friday, Nov. 1, concrete work near Gate D5 will have some access impacts. The double doors on the north side of Concourse D near Gate D3 will be closed during work hours from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bradford will use an alternate route to park and make deliveries.
Ticket Hall: Today through Wednesday, Oct. 30, crews will complete work on the east end of ticket islands 4/5 and 6/7, and terrazzo flooring will be installed. The work will take place in the closed construction area in the former central ticket lobby, but noise from floor preparation and other activities will generate periodic loud noise, odor and dust. With safety in mind, mitigation techniques will be in place to address these impacts.
