We haven't seen any travel impacts at PDX yet while the federal government shutdown continues, but we are closely monitoring the situation and remain committed to ensuring safe, reliable travel for everyone. To help keep daily airport operations running smoothly, many federal workers – including FAA air traffic controllers and TSA agents – are designated as essential and are continuing to work without pay.

If you would like to show appreciation for our federal partners who are showing up every day and keeping things moving at PDX, there are donation bins located near the stadium stairs in the new main terminal. Items can be dropped off at any time throughout the duration of the shutdown.

Items that can be accepted:

• Non-perishable food (canned goods, snacks, rice, pasta, and peanut butter)
• Gift cards for $25.00 or less for groceries, gas, or major retailers (Target, Fred Meyer, Safeway)
• Household essentials (soap, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toothpaste, and pet food)

Items that cannot be accepted:

• Cash, checks, or cash cards
• Used, damaged, or unpackaged items
• Clothing
• Larger household items, like appliances
